One of my favorite writers, Henry David Thoreau, shared his thoughts on serious reading in his book Walden. He emphasized that books should be read with the same deliberation and care with which they were written. To read deliberately, it behooves us to engage in a noble exercise comparable to that of an athlete’s training – intense focus and commitment.
