OUR LAND ON PANTAI KITA on Sumba Island in Indonesia

We have 0.95 hectare (over 2 acres) of some of the most beautiful freehold beachfront land in Sumba. This is quite a unique land opportunity as we now wish to sell this due to other investment opportunities that have come up. Our immediate neighbor has three plots of the same size in case you may be interested in buying almost two hectares.

The land with all certificates, on 6km of the only beach front available on the North coast of West Sumba, belonged to Aloysius Purwa one of the most distinguished Rotarians. Mr Purwa has been Dutch Consul for the past 25 years and is owner of KCB Travel (largest travel agency in Bali) and now one of the largest land owners in the north of Sumba. Mr Purwa, in his role as District Governor of 81 Rotary clubs in Indonesia, has built and provided great ongoing support for two schools in Sumba one with 287 children and another with 280 children as well as toilets for 240 villagers. As you can imagine he is understandably well liked and very highly respected by the Sumba Government and in the local community. I have also provided water wells in Sumba supplying water to over 2,000 people.

Mr.Purwa owns a two storey restaurant next to his boutique hotel on part of his beach front land (www.mariohotel.net) as well as a number of bungalow units. He also has land nearby where he is building a branch office of his KCB travel and has permission for shops, restaurants and cafes. Due to his close relationship with the Government and Governor of Sumba and the fact that he is providing jobs for several thousand people on Sumba, Mr Purwa has been able to arrange for the Government to provide water, electricity and a 10 metre asphalt road completed all the way along behind our land which has cut down the previous 25 minutes journey to the airport to just 15 mins. A bridge is shortly to be constructed which will cut the journey to the airport down to just 7 mins (perfect for weekend visitors).

Merta Ada, the well known Meditation Teacher, has land for his Meditation Hotel on the same beach (a good pointer as he states the area has extremely positive Feng Shui aspects). 3 years ago there were only 2 flights/week in/out of Tambolaka, West Sumba. Now Garuda and three other airlines operate a total of 49 weekly domestic flights. The airport has been quadrupled in size. Land is still almost 100 times cheaper than in Legian and is expected to increase in value by up to ten times over the next five to six years. It also has been reported that the Indonesian Government has finally given permission for the route to Darwin to be opened up sometime next year since the airport runway has been extended.

Our land stretches 200 metres deep along this same stretch of beach. All plots along this beach are naturally increasing in value as more and more infrastructure is being created like Rotary President Handoko’s new Chinese restaurant, Health Centre and indoor football stadium all close to the airport. A new hospital of International standard is under construction right now also close to our land near to the airport.

DESCRIPTION OF OUR LAND

on the quietest part of the beach, at night you will hear only the sound of the waves.
Facing north 180 degrees of ocean so both sun rise and sun set can be seen everyday. The air is so clean at night we can see much more stars than from many other places in the world. The closest inhabited village is around 4 km away.

For your interest the Aga Khan’s well known architect Jean Claude LeSuisse (who worked for many years on the Aga Khan’s Costa Smeralda, Sardinia development) has drawn up a first draft eco resort concept for our land.

Prices are rising steadily due to all the International publicity. For example the front cover of Forbes Asia magazine and the article in American Express's DISCOVERY magazine for platinum card holders talked about Sumba as the next great exotic eco-destination.
