So, for those of you who care, here is an account of my day yesterday.
Alarm set for 4:30 am to get ready for my trip to the VA and eyelid surgery (another for 5 to call my driver), I woke up at 3 am, not quite as bad as a month before, but I was shiveringly, teeth chatteringly cold.
I got up and made my way to the livingroom to retrieve my thermometers, turning off fans and raising the temp on the AC to 80°.
First reading was 99.9°, shivering and teeth chattering, I called my friend to say I wasn't going, then I called the VA to tell them of my condition and that I wasn't coming for the surgery; they were not pleased.
They urged me to come to the ER. I can't get out of bed and down the stairs to come to you, but you think I can do all that to come to the ER? (I had already unlocked my doors in case I had to call EMT's)
By now my temp was 102.7°, (which as my sister Linda pointed out later, is very dangerous for people my age).
Except for the one time coming in here to the computer where, even then, my hands spasming made it difficult to type, I was able to enter the two events into my calendar(one call for a music gig, and the other from the VA to schedule a CT scan), other than those (and short trips to pee of course), I stayed in bed ALL DARNED DAY, so as a result, my back is killing me. (I have my TENS unit on even as we 'speak')
In the course of yesterday, I ate two grapefruit, a handful of Brazil nuts and walnuts, drank at least 4 tall glasses of water and several big swallows of G'fruitjuice cocktail, otherwise, nada, zip, zilch.
So now, I feel better, the last temp reading was 97.6° (last night)
I am extremely weak.
One odd thing (to me at least) during the height of my delusion and fever, every movement, every step, every time my own hand hit my leg or side etc...HURT!!!
I crept around my apartment, taking 3x as long just to take the 6 steps to my bathroom (leading to some spots...if you get my meaning).
Lets see how long I can stay upright today.

I’m glad the fever started coming down and hope you are fully recovered by now. However, it is important to find out what caused the fever in the first place, this is vitally important. Fevers are the way of the body to fight something, that something is important. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Nikki, I know this is going to sound snotty of me.
Nothing you have said isn't something I don't know @coquiunlimited.
How do you suggest I go about finding out what is causing this?
It is now three days since the event.
Thursday before the event, I saw my Medicare PC, and because of the PREVIOUS event, and the fact that I'd felt drained and tired all last week
I thought UTI the likely culprit; blood was drawn and urine tested.
EVERYTHING was normal.
So Dr Frog, how would you suggest I proceed to discover the
Cause of these fevers?
I had to delete all posts from my FB feed concerning this, because
Of the OVER AND OVER being told I should go to the ER
(it was YESTERDAY PEOPLE, I can't go now)
EMT and ER cost money, unless I go to the VA, or one of the hosp
Covered by my ins.
An Ambulance will take me to Grady, no matter WHERE I ask
Them to take me.

No need to explain I know how horrible Va hospitals are and how frustrated you must be and overwhelmed in pain. What I meant is flulike symptoms that is involving such high temperature readings merits to be looked into further dear Jerry. Hopefully it was all a 24 hr virus and nothing more than that. A rheumatologist might be helpful to see. Just a suggestion.

I asked to see a rheumatologist several years ago, was tested and
Nothing was found.
I daresay that wouldn't be true today. Love you Dr 🐸 😉

Dr Frog is quite the title. 😄 However, either a Rheumatologist or Ortho is in order for the hip issue. Oh and I did work in hospitals, I’m a PCT, though not a MD. 😝

Ha, ha, indeed. I have a few more titles after that, the only one with an M.D. is my son’s father whom always said I am much smarter than he with his doctorate.

dang man, get to feeling better. You probably need a load of Vitamin C and D and some sunshine. (no sunshine at my house today, bummer)

I take a bunch of supplements, including D + calcium daily. I really
do try To eat healthy, at least not as bad as I once did; I eat more sugar than I Should, but I drink only water, filtered water
(I cheat with grapefruit juice cocktail, which is high in
High fructose corn syrup) otherwise I sweeten my coffee with
Turbinado sugar, my cereal with raw, unfiltered honey, said
Cereal being whole grain etc etc... I eat very little meat.
I've lost 33 lbs in the last 12 months. I just don't know
What this thing is that has jumped on me twice in the last month
Or so, the same way, wake up in the wee hours freezing
To death because I'm running a high fever.
The first time, all I did was drink water (it was the morning after
I'd had a colonoscopy) this time it was the morning of a surgery.
Psychosomatic you think?
Thanks for caring enough to comment @coinsandchains.

The mind can do things like that, but it is not typical for it to raise body temp to 102. That is usually the sign of an infection of some type. 👍
