A man named Eric Lundgren of California was sentenced to 15 months in jail and paid a fine of 50,000 US dollars after losing an appeal in the US Federal Court. Lundgren was found guilty of infringing Microsoft's copyright with a loss of up to 700,000 US dollars (approximately USD 9.6 billion). image

Lundgren is a pretty decent figure in Uncle Sam's country. He is known as an inventor as well as entrepreneurs engaged in the recycling of electronic devices aka "e-waste". His clients include major players such as IBM, Motorola, and Sprint's cellular operators.

Malang, Lundgren stumbled on a legal case when he imported 28,000 copies of Windows "restore" discs from China to the US, with the intention to sell for 25 cents per chip to computer reconditioned stores.

Disc (CD / DVD) restore Windows Lundgren copy is actually the same as a Windows restore disc provided free of charge by Microsoft, to be used to repair a Windows-based computer, in case of errors and hard disks must be removed.
