Get Off The Sidelines - Take Advantage Of Opportunities Before They ARE Gone - My Impromptu Words Of Wisdom

in realtalk •  5 years ago  (edited)

This applies to just about anything you've waffled on in life that got away.

For me, it'd be to confront my abusive Dad before his mind melted and he passed on.

Some things you'll just never be able to do again, and God knows how much it can hurt.

It'd also be to confront my abusive schizophrenic ex who randomly emailed me this picture with a few others on Father's Day almost two years after our breakup. She was a professional photographer that was gifted at editing photos to bend reality, just like in her mind.

This unwelcome contact was intended to mess with me on a very dismal day where I was feeling down, and likely spite me for turning her down on her recent attempts to rekindle. She knew I associated her and my Dad as abusive people. I ignored it, but will turn it into a positive as a nice pic.

I do remember having a terrible day at the field shortly after he died during our Father's Day doubleheader, and almost not wanting to play for the first time in my life. It was hard with the other Dads there supporting their sons. One of them was cheering for me as I pitched, and as nice as it was, it hurt that it was a supplement for what I didn't have much of.

Anyway, just one decision or a few brave minutes can define or redefine your life forever. Trust me, I know.

The sidelines are for those who aren't in the game.

It's safer on the sidelines, where you're poised and prepared.

You learn when you're on the sidelines, but you're not going to have much influence.

You won't be a direct part of the victory or defeat.

You'll just be watching and supporting your cause...

Indecision is expensive.

It's the reason people miss out on life-changing opportunities or investments when they were there for the taking.

I've been there. I've balked. I've backed away to "take the safe route." I've been lazy and it's cost me more money than I care to share.

Likewise, being complacent with what is NOT right for you is ALSO sitting on the sidelines as the rest of life passes by.

I've been there too. Stuck in several toxic relationships, missing out on one good girl after the next, time with friends and family, and time for myself to grow.

But, I've learned, and I'm stronger. As much as I was set back, I've become better and wiser.

Is the safe route what's going to ultimately make us the happiest or most fulfilled?

Will we ever get those same opportunities again, or will they be gone forever, along with the benefits they offered us?

Is learning the hard way really that bad?

No pain, no gain.

Anything that comes easy will not feel as special as it should.

Indecision, lack of preparation, and fear can be expensive.

With crypto, waffling over where to invest can be expensive as the entire cryptosphere rises.

FOMO is real and you can avoid it by taking action when the right opportunities are present. They will not always be there.

While there are better picks here and there, and prices rise and fall...

Sometimes you just need to be off the sidelines and IN the game to learn and win in the long run.

The game means out of fiat and into holdings you believe in.

Risk is involved. Be smart about it as prices are highly volatile. Don't chase, but be prepared when the time is right.

You only lose when you sell.

You usually only win when you play.

Life isn't a game, but sometimes it can be if we take more chances and have more fun.

The Dolphin's Cry by Live has a very inspiring chorus that's one of my favorites of all time.

"Life is like a shooting star
it don't matter who you are
if you only run for cover, it's just a waste of time."

Off to the gym to build for baseball.

I'm hoping ETH keeps climbing. I feel that when major coins like Ethereum and Bitcoin go up, many other coins rise too. A rising tide lifts all boats. 10,000 SP sounds like a nice goal as well. It sounds like you have some goals in mind, which is great.

Keep rockin' it brah, stay in the game and keep seeking your best version of life...And yourself. Nice post fella. ✅
