Blasphemy: Raising One's Subjective Preferences Above the Objective Truth

in reason •  6 years ago  (edited)

When one elevates their subjective preferences above objectivity, #Reason, and truth, they have committed the sin of blasphemy; it is akin to claiming to be above God—just as the antichrist does in the book of Daniel, and the demon #Samael does in the #Gnostic creation story. It is arrogant and pretentious, and an utter lack of realizing one's limitations and capacity for bias; in other words it's a lack of humility.

The archetype of claiming one's subjective truth is beyond objective truth, which is blasphemous, arrogant, and pretentious—summed up in the Gnostic text, "The Hypostasis of the Archons". New Age types do this often, as do the hyper-empirical types. #UnityProcess

When AOC (Ocasio-Cortez), or any other Marxist, New Ager, or anybody else states that their relative truth, which is subjective and therefore a preference, is beyond the objective truth and being accountable to reason, they are embodying the archetype of blasphemy, and "sinning" against God (aka, the Logos / Logocentricism). Please bear with me, as I'm speaking on an archetypal, metaphoric, and philosophic level, and not a literal religious skyman level. I think this is the underlying truth of what these religious texts were attempting to communicate to us.
