American writer George Saunders got Man Booker Award for 2017

American writer George Saunders has won the UK's famous Man Booker Prize for his novel 'Lincoln in the Bardo'. He has become the second American author to win this award. For the prestigious English Literature prize, the judges praised this book as "absolutely original" masterpiece.
This book contains the story of the death of 11-year-old son Willie of Abraham Lincoln. Announcing the award at a ceremony in London, Lola Young, chairman of the Critical Panel, said that this original novel style reveals the story narrative, moving forward with intelligence and depth.
Saunders, 58, described this award as "a great honor" and said that I hope that I will keep my remaining work level in the coming time. In his brief speech, he also mentioned about US President Donald Trump's controversial policies. He said that we are living in different rounds. In the US, we are now hearing a lot about the need to protect culture. Today's night is cultural.
Three American and three British authors were nominated for this year's Man Booker Prize. Last year, Paul Beatty became the first American writer to win this award. He received this award for his novel 'The Cellout'.
