Black Sweet Vinegar Braised Pork Trotter

I've never cooked Braised Pork Trotter before, so this is my first effort to cook it. I've seen my mom, my sister and brother cooked it before, so I have a vague idea on how to prepare it, the required ingredients and the final taste is up to how you like it. I've tried this menu in other restaurants before but it's either too sweet or too sour for my liking, so for this menu, I will try to suit it to my taste and hopefully, the others will like it.

What you need is....


The Meat....

I bought a one and half kilos of pork leg and cut it to mouth size pieces.

The Ingredients....


These are the ingredients that I used, Red Dates, Star Anise and Ginger.

These are the main ingredients the Sweetened Black Vinegar and Dark Soy Sauce, without it you won't be able to cook this menu.

And of course, you do need to have Water, Salt, and Sugar too. Image Source

How to cook it

  1. Pour some cooking oil into a pot of a wok then fry the ginger and star anise together.
  2. Add the meat and fry until fragrant or when the meat looks a bit whitish.
  3. Add water until it covers the entire meat and wait until it boils.
  4. Add the Red Dates, Black Vinegar, Dark Soy Sauce, and a bit of Salt.
  5. Use low heat and cook for 1 hour, or until the skin is tender.
  6. Keep on tasting until it suits your taste, not too sour and not too sweet.

Sedap bro, saya sendiri tidak sangka ngam saya masak. Yang penting ngam kau punya taste.

Sa lapar trus ooo ... sa pun mo try laini. Tidak banyak hassle lagi mo masak.

Kapangkis nampak ni masakan ..mahu Cuba ni..kalau ada lagi resepi boli lagi share...youthe best.@beverlyjoe.

Memang sedap walaupun sendiri yang masak. Mungkin sebab ikut rasa sendiri. Masak lama sikit sampai tu kulit pun jadi lembut, lebih kurang 2 jam pakai api kecil.
