Truffles
INGREDIENTS
thirty six Oreo cookies
one package Philadelphia cream cheese
three cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
DIRECTIONS
Put oreos into a zip lock bag and crush to crumbs. Set quarter cup of cookie crumbs aside for garnish.
Mix oreo crumbs and cream cheese in a medium-size bowl and combine till smooth and dark brown.
Shape truffle mix into one inch round balls using the palms of your hands and set aside on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Dissolve one cup of semi-sweet chocolate morsels in a small pot on low flame on the stove. Mix frequently, but not constantly.
Remove pot from flame immediately when most, but not all, of the chocolate is dissolved. Mix the chocolate continuously till it is smooth, shiny, and completely dissolved.
Roll two to three truffles at a time in pot of melted chocolate till fully covered. Remove truffles from pot, place on cookie sheet and sprinkle with cookie crumbs.
Once all truffles have been covered, let them sit in the refrigerator for forty five minutes till firm or until you just can’t wait any longer.
