1 can evaporated milk
2-3 tablespoons salted or unsalted butter
3/4-1 cup brown or white sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine milk, butter and sugar on low-medium heat in a small saucepan. Slowly bring to a boil stirring to dissolve sugar. It's better to keep heat lower than higher as you don't want to burn it. Cook on low approximately 30-40 min. Add molasses and vanilla and continue to cook for another 15-20 min until mixture coats back of wooden spoon. Cool and store in a jar in fridge and use to sweeten Thai tea or in your favorite dessert. If you like this, I'll post recipe for my layered bars that uses the condensed milk in the ingredients. 😋
