I wish I could answer this your question;
when was the last time you gave an upvote to a really good comment on someone else's post, just because it was "really good?"
For my case, I can't remember when someone left a comment on my post. This will make it easier for thinking that my posts are not engaging... I disagree since there are lurking factors....
One of the things they changed and I wish they hadn't was to get rid of the page view counters. I guess there were any number of "reasons" from "they can be gamed" to not wanting people to see that they had 20 upvotes and 3 page views... for me it was helpful because I could tell that there were a lot of readers who didn't necessarily engage.
