Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    And it's also a good point that some people are "content producers" while other people are more oriented towards being consumers (readers) of content.
