This was always my favorite song from the precedent-setting soundtrack to the video game Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo was released in 2001 on the Xbox and unequivocally set a new standard for gameplay and storytelling - but anyone who played through the whole game knows how impactful the soundtrack was on the overall experience.
This song is taken from the third mission of the game. You're in an airship with your fellow Marines and are being sneakily lowered into a battlefield where all your enemies (the Covenant) are asleep or just not paying attention. You're given a sniper rifle for the first time in the game and your job is to take out as many people with stealth as possible before you advance deep into enemy lines.

At about 3 minutes in, these faded 80's drums, slick bass arrangements, and atmospheric sounds come in that mirror the sly nature that you have to adapt to in this section of the game. That was always my favorite part, and one of my top moments in video game soundtrack history. It's wavy as hell but pretty rhythmic at the same time. The chanting vocals that they throw in are just the cherry on top
The whole song is an epic series of orchestral arrangements, so listen to it all if you can (throw it on while you get some work done). But the part I'm in love with is that 3-minute mark. Below the first video is another with the actual gameplay if you're interested (or just want to relive childhood memories) Thanks steemit and @recordpool !
