In one of the worst possible places in the world to be going outside these days, I still march 3x a week while everyone is sleeping, or crying about running out of Netflix shows and ice cream.
I've been going out on Mondays, Tuesday and Fridays somewhere between 1- 5:30 AM to avoid others. These are the closest routes to my apartment to be practical with minimizing my exposure. I'm lucky if I see 1 or 2 people the entire time, but the virus can easily be on the items I'm touching. I'm careful with gloves and let things sit for a few days before I handle them again.
I find that very motivating because literally everyone else is flat on their asses fast asleep while I'm making money and helping the environment.

I reluctantly agreed to take the subway to meet the buyer halfway in the pouring rain because this helps with seasonal depression. I thought it'd be a nice gesture to help another human out who may be stuck inside for weeks, and/or need the mental boost. This trip was my first time on a subway in a while. It was eerily barren at "rush hour." When I arrived 10 mins early, I texted the buyer with my location and a screenshot of the light working from before I left. The texts were ignored, so I started thinking he'd be late. Two mins before our meeting time, while standing nervously in the station intersection as a creepy news cameraman filmed ME, the buyer emailed to cancel with a BS excuse. LIVID for him allowing me to be put at risk in one of the scariest cities in the world right now, when he could've easily cancelled beforehand to save me the risk, I reamed him out in a reply. I let him have it and called him out on his fake emergency (I've gotten that line so many times, bitch please). By the time I got off the return train, he sent me the full $70 to my Venmo and a very sincere email. He learned his lesson and tried to make it right. I forgave him. I still have the light, but will hold it for him as a courtesy (no obligation) for when the crisis is over.

Recap: 50 pounds saved... That deserves some credit.
The medical device was a nice win. I was lucky to have found its case partially open on top of a pile of bags so I could easily see the gold within. I usually just kick suitcases and leave them alone. The opened case means someone else got to it first, but foolishly left it. That's absurd as this retailed for over $15,000 before insurance! The nurse who lives below me uses them often and was shocked that I found one outside, working and spotless. The travel cases's wheels were never even rolled outside. Funny enough, I found it in literally the same exact spot as a dental device stand I found and sold for $425 a week before then. Literally the same precise spot! Now, every time I go back there, I get my hopes up a little.
The Land Rover part sale came from a Craigslist listing for a guy that was in another state. He wanted me to ship it to him. That's usually a red flag, but he gave his cell. We spoke thoroughly, he sent me cash on Zelle, and it's all packaged up to be mailed on Monday. I almost judged a book by its cover, but am glad I gave him a chance. This is exactly what he needed and its far cheaper than the other option he had. Win-win.
The espresso machine parts are starting to sell now after I dropped the machine on the curbs a few weeks ago to force me to part it out. The machine retailed for $3,000 when it was first released. One other part sold for $126 in a prior post, and I have tons of good parts left between $60-$110.
For the modem, I found 2 more solid modems with it, a nice wooden Tivoli radio, coin sorter, and a high end paper-shredder. I like finding those types of bags, clear bags out in the open for anyone to grab... but most people are blind. I listed the one above overnight and told myself that if it didn't sell by when I woke up, I'd keep it. It sold before I woke up. I still have another I could keep that's an upgrade. The third is the same one I already have.
I also sold some assorted appliance, vacuum and stroller parts. I've fortunately been finding a TON outside, but am taking my time in listing them. I'm trying to reorganize my apartment right now for more efficient storage, and to facilitate training for baseball with my season delayed.
Weirdest Find Ever:
If you didn't catch one of my last posts, I actually found a complete dildo sex machine on my street without a scratch or "anything else" on it. It retailed for $500-$600+ with several accessories.
Crazy right? I feel that this will be very popular and an easy sell as the lockdown continues.
Hopefully people see the bigger picture here. I'm sick of people complaining about being bored at home or blockchain nonsense. It's a blessing most of us are NOT sick and have the luxury to whine about "databases with inflationary tokens." Please find some more happiness within and do more good in the real world.
PS. I also just found a bunch of jewelry, including lots of Sterling Silver, some gold, gems and pearls. This was a fun find. One notable designer ring was about $400-$500 new.
Dude you really make me want to get into this type of business.
I'm sure it has it's difficulties but you make it look easy man! :D

Woa, lucky that guy felt bad enough to actually pay you.
I'm just coming off a 7-day ban for a $16 Samsung fridge filter that they bogusly claimed as counterfeit. I emailed them and they did tell eBay to remove the VeRO claim, but with everything going on I still sat through the whole ban before eBay removed the ding.

Glad to see you still at it.
I pulled my listings for now, despite the great start I had been off to. The last 2 weeks had been dead for me, and to qualify here for unemployment I didn't want to jeopardize that for a sale here or there. I will still have the items if/when things return to whatever the new normal will be.
Thinking about tinkering with a shopify store once the stimulus money gets here. Figure out the ins and outs of it so I can get it off and running quickly once this is behind us.
I'm not around these parts much anymore as I'm focusing on the other chain. Just came to transfer some Steem and thought I would vote on those i enjoy while here. Your post was a site for sore eyes :)
