Redd Coin 이란 무엇인가 (What is a Redd Coin?)

Redd coin 은 2014년 2월에 출시된 코인으로 코인마켓캡에서 찾아보면 2018년 10월 8일 현재 시가총액이 약 1억 7백만달러로 61위에 랭크되어 있다. 총 288억개의 코인이 발행되어, 발행량은 매우 많은 편이다.

Redd Coin사용자는 페이스북, 유투브, 트위터등의 주요 SNS 플랫폼에서 Redd Coin 을 주고 받을 수 있다.
즉 SNS상의 글이나 동영상의 창작자에게 페이스북의 '좋아요' 대신 실제로 돈(Redd Coin)을 보낼 수 있게 함으로서
창작자에게 보상을 하는 방식이다. Redd Coin을 보낼 때의 수수료는 없다.

주요 특징은 아래와 같다.

특징#1 POSV 채굴방식
Redd Coin은 초기에는 POW방식 이었지만, 코인을 280억개 생산한 이후부터는 POSV방식으로 전환했다.
현재 Redd Coin 의 채굴방식은 POSV(Proof Of Stake Velocity)이다.

컴퓨팅 파워를 이용한 작업증명으로 네트워크의 보안유지 거래의 검증을 하는 기존 POW방식은 에너지 낭비와 환경오염이라는 문제가 있었다. 이에 대한 대안으로 에너지 낭비를 줄이는 POS(Proof of Stake)가 출현했다.
POSV는 POS의 장점과 빠르게 변화하는 SNS의 속성을 화폐의 유통속도에 연동시킨 새로운 채굴 방식이다. 즉 화폐의 유통속도가 빠르게 증가하는 만큼 참여자와 플랫폼에 이익이 되되록 설계된 코인이다.

특징#2 확장성 있는 플랫폼 (Tip Platform)
Redd Coin은 참여자들이 특정 SNS가 아닌 , 모든 SNS의 사용자와 송수신이 가능하고, 기부를 통해 콘텐츠 작성자를 지원할 수있게 해주는 확정성 있는 플랫폼을 구현하고, 이를 팁 플랫폼이라고 부른다.
컨텐츠 생산자들에게 Redd Coin 을 기부(tipping)함으로서 플랫폼 뿐만 아니라 컨텐츠의 생산자에게도 이익이 돌아가게 한 다는 점에서 steemit 과 유사하다. 그러나 steemit 에서 voting을 하는 참여자에게도 이익이 돌아가는 것과는 달리 Red Coin에서는 Redd Coin의 기부자에게는 이익이 돌아가지 않는다.
이 부분은 Redd Coin이 더 고민해야 할 숙제라고 생각된다.

특징#3 Redd-ID
유투브, 페이스북, 트위터 등 SNS 종류별로 ID와 비밀번호를 따로 관리하기가 번거롭다. 이 많은 SNS의 계정이 하나로 통합된다면 편리하지 않을까? Redd Coin의 통합계정 서비스 Redd-ID 는 이에 대한 해법을 제시한다.
사용자가 SNS 마다 계정을 따로 만들어 관리하지 않고 Redd ID 하나로 SNS상의 모든 플랫폼을 관리할 수 있는 SNS상의 Identity 를 만들려는 Redd Coin의 야심찬 시도가 바로 Redd ID이다.
사용자는 Redd ID를 우선 생성하고, 생성한 Redd ID에 구글, 페이스북, 트위터,Reddit의 아이디를 연동한다.
그리고 이 Redd ID를 통해서 각 SNS상의 사용자에게 Redd 코인을 주고 받을 수 있으며, 컨텐츠 생성자에게 기부를 할 수도 있다.

살펴본 결과 Redd Coin은 플랫폼마다 제각기 떨어져 있는 SNS상의 사용자가 서로 교류 할 수 있도록 Redd ID 를 통해서 하나로 묶어주고, 이를 통해 서로 화폐(Redd Coin)을 주고 받을 수 있게 해준다.
그리고 컨텐츠의 생성자에게 직접 이익이 돌아갈 수 있도록 기부할 수 있도록 했고, 이를 통해 보유하고 있는 Redd Coin 의 가치가 올라 갈 수 있도록 토큰 이코노미가 설계되어 있다.
설계된 대로만 개발이 이뤄지고, 커뮤니티의 지지를 받는다면 꽤 괜찮은 코인이 될 것 같다.

Redd Coin's ambitious attempt to create an identity on SNS where users can manage all platforms on SNS with one Redd ID rather than creating and managing accounts on each SNS.
Users first create the Redd ID and link the ID of Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit to the Redd ID they created.
The Redd ID also allows you to send and receive Redd coins to users on each SNS and to make donations to content creators.
As a result of looking at red coins, Redd Coins can be grouped together through Redd IDs to allow users on SNS, which are located on different platforms, to exchange money with each other.
