Redneck reality: I will vote for Trump in 2020

in redneck •  5 years ago

While this is probably not a popular opinion online, it should come as no surprise that this is the case in the redneck community. However, it isn't blind devotion the way that a lot of people assume and people who live their lives the way that I have chosen to are not stupid and only voting for the man based on the fact that we are ignorant sheeples following a charismatic speaker.

A vast majority of people living in rural areas are conservative, and this isn't just true of the white people. There are quite a few black and Hispanic rednecks after all. Being a redneck is not specific to color, it has a great deal to do with how you choose to live your life.

I was an anomaly in my community in 2016 because I voted for Gary Johnson and have voted for Libertarian candidates in vain since I was 20 or so. I would tell my country boy friends about this choice and you'd be surprised how receptive they were to hear about Libertarians. Gary Johnson had a wonderful opportunity to rise to the top and make the Lib party mainstream but in many ways he really failed the party by making massive mistakes in his public appearances. In many ways he made the party seem nuts and that is a shame.

I was not a Trump supporter in 2016 but I would have voted for Herman Supreme (the guy with a boot on his head whose political promises included giving a free pony to everyone) before I would have voted for Hillary or really any other Democrat.

The reaction to Trump's election by the media and by the liberal masses around the States (and the world) is what converted me to a Trump supporter and nothing would make me happier than to see the devious efforts put forward by the media and pretty much all the Democrat politicians to be a complete failure.

My prediction is that the election results will be almost exactly the same as last time but perhaps less of a gap between the popular vote. Here is the reason why: Not a single Trump supporter has switched sides in the last 4 years and the Independents, like me, are completely fed up with the way that Democrats have handled losing what was considered a sure thing in 2016 for Hillary. Also, the socialist promises that have been put forth by Democrat front-runners goes against pretty much everything that a redneck stands for.

I have spent my entire adult life voting for a party that I truly believe needs more attention but this year I will join what I believe to be a massive number of independents by voting for Trump.

I would be willing to bet that there are a lot of people that feel exactly the way you do. I'm on the fence myself... i think this will be an exciting year filled with tons of negative advertising on the part of both parties. That much is for certain.

A little advice- because you are new no one is going to get on your case about sourcing your images just yet but in time they will. I'm not trying to be mean but saying "images are from Google Images" is not the proper way to source. You need to specify the exact location and this can end up being ugly unless you use a little bit of HTML

Just copy this and save it somewhere, it will become easy to remember in time

[source](whatever the URL of the image happens to be)

Then it will end up looking like this
7c97e4730a334776bbb418bed4d563f2_18.jpg
source

put that below the picture and as long as you use the brackets correctly, the URL wont actually appear but a link to the image will be embedded. you can easily copy and paste the url of said images by simply right clicking on the image inside of google images (or wherever else) and selecting "copy image address" or something similar to that depending on which browser you are using.

As far as i know, this is the accepted format for using images that are not your own property.

I'm digging your writing and it reminds me a lot of lots of my friends back home. Cheers.

ahhhhh, gotcha. thanks for that... i will use that in the future. Thanks for the help :)

Howdy sir beelzebubba! Very brave of you to do a political post like this! lol. I agree that the dems have a horrifying platform and I think that will re-elect Trump.

Let me recommend a friend of mine on here, smithlabs. He does all things political plus other touchy subjects like guns. He's beyond brilliant and loves to talk to people, especially rednecks. lol.

oh thanks for the recommendation. I will add him now, it isn't always easy to find people to add to my feed (well for me because I don't really understand how things work here yet.)

Believe it or not, politics don't come up much in my groups, but that is likely because of the fact that you would be pretty hard pressed to find anyone who isn't conservative at a vast majority of the places I go...

I try to keep an open mind though even though I can't find many redeeming qualities about the Democrat nominees other than Yang, who doesn't stand a chance in my opinion. He doesn't have the correct friends unfortunately.

Howdy today sir beelzebubba! They are about to bring communities to Steemit so it will be easier for people to find those who are interested in the same things when they get that set up. Which should be any day now I think.

What are your main interests?.. and I'll point some folks out to you if I know any who have the same ones.

If you like humor the funniest writer on Steemit, in my opinion, is a guy from Scotland. Man, is he a riot. Incredibly creative and prolific writer and he always answers your comments too. meesterboom.

Thanks, I'll go check out meesterboom. My interests are pretty wide, but even though this seems to be a crypto-oriented social network, I have very little interest in reading about that. Human-interest stories and humor mostly. Oh, and dogs, everyone loves dogs.

Well there are people who write about the crypto world but not many compared to the overall numbers here. Most people write about food, travel, cats, politics and just stuff they do everyday.

Cats seems to be the biggest theme for posts here...which surprises me because of all the dog lovers! But yes any posts about dogs should be very well received. I've specialized in history, tales of the Wild West specifically and that has been my niche but I haven't really got much traction there except a few fans.

So I'd try whatever you enjoy and see if you can build a following.

Wow, I just saw you are at rep60! I didn't know it was possible to reach 60 in such a short time. It took me a year of working 7 days a week, posting everyday and commenting 12 to 16 hours a day to reach rep60! lol. It took me 6 months to finally earn more than a dollar on my posts. Even now I only make 2 to $4 normally.

Maybe I should just take advice from you because I didn't know it was possible to grow so fast on here. Just keep doing what you're doing because obviously you've found the winning formula!
