This is sort of a big deal, because the light in our refrigerator hasn't worked in over a decade, maybe 15 years (not just the light bulb). But the fridge kept working, and I'm too much my mother's son to readily drop hundreds of dollars to replace a functional appliance.
But thanks to points on the credit card and a sale at Lowes, we're able to get a new fridge for almost free. Hooray for markets.
I'm always mildly amazed when I go to mom's house and open the fridge at how bright it is inside, and it will be nice to be able to see more easily in my own fridge again.
But I suppose I'll quickly become complacent and forget to notice regularly what a marvellous little invention the refrigerator light is. Such is how we humans are.
