I STAKED MY JAHM TOKENS: THERE ARE SEVERAL REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD, TOOsteemCreated with Sketch.

in reggaesteem •  5 years ago  (edited)

Yesterday I posted an article in hope of getting some feedback from the #reggaesteem community. The engagement was great and many people commented on my post with constructive criticism on what to do with my incoming JAHM tokens. The general consensus was to "STAKE" my tokens to better serve the community via curation and to help myself grow from rewards through voting the tribe.

I decided to take everyone's advice who commented on my post yesterday and STAKE all of my JAHM, which currently isn't very much. But as @shanibeer said yesterday, it is only going to become more and more difficult to earn JAHM as time passes, so might as well earn as much as possible while the tribe is still young. Another interesting thing I learned yesterday was that JAHM is actually being accepted as a form of payment. I saw a post yesterday by @negrilescape introducing their luxurious resort in Negril, Jamaica, which by the way, is my go-to vacation spot (if you didn't already know). I posted briefly about this here the other day and fully intend on sharing many of my memorable experiences from Negril with the entire #reggaesteem community. But, for now, back to @negrilescape. They accept payment in the form of several cryptocurrencies, one of them being - JAHM tokens. I'll be darned.

JAHMTOKEN1_LI.jpg

Since Negril is my spot, and I will likely be back there in the next few years, there is no better time to stack and stake JAHM for a future getaway!! Another nice surprise as I opened up my steem-engine earlier today was a gift from @conradsuperb. Him and I are rather close. We have known each other for some time now and he helps me and I try to help him in return. What goes around comes around type of deal. He sent me 233.xx JAHM tokens to add to my previous total which was about 733. I just staked my now, 989 JAHM tokens, and have already started curating via reggaesteem.io.

I wanted to specially thank you all for helping me start my journey here and making it all the more easier of a transition. I cannot wait to continue this wonderful journey with all of you!

IRIEEE for now,

@super-irie

Two Thumbs Up for staking #JAHM, just wondering why would you tag "reggae" without linking or chatting about the music?

Posted via ReggaeSteem | Reggae Culture Rewarded

I won’t answer for him, but reggae is in irie’s blood

You should see the collection of hundreds of tapes this man has in his home from Gregory issacs to shabba ranks to midnite to.... I don’t think he’s missing one lol

Just curious, is there a posting requirement to the tag #reggae?

Misusing tags is a legitimate reason to downvote someone. If I search reggae, I don't want to see cat photos. Downvoting hides the post and redistribute the rewards to posters who produce quality on topic posts.

Generally speaking I give a few warnings out of politeness and am lenient on new posters. We don't want to come across as being unfriendly but why would you use the tag Reggae on something that is isn't Reggae?

110 percent agree and I am really smiling re (reggae is in the blood). I made a post and forgot to mention Cannabis/Weed/Ganja and was warn by weedcash. I would like to answer like that too re weed.. Hanging in my business is a sign that said SACRAMENTAL YARDsacramentdoor.jpg

Weed is in my blood. At the entrance of my restauranct is a sign that read SACRAMENTAL YARD. I am a co founder of the first Ganja farmer association in Jamaica. It is called, Westmoreland Hemp and Ganja Farmers Association and current chairman of said organisation.. At any given time of day chances are you can find one person in the yard enjoying his sacrament.... The weedcash people would not know that but for us here in Jamaica, when we here or see a man name himeself IRIE we assume rightly or wrongly he has something to do with the Jamaican culture or REGGAE MUSIC in particular.
rootzfestpic18.jpg

Now he or she could be just a tourist that at sometime fell in love with Jamaica or the culture and want to identify with it and that is the way he see or choose to do so.. We at ReggaeSteem would like to welcome that man not only welcome that man but said a big: (hail the man).

One of the goal we would like to achieve with ReggaeSteem it to get Jamaica, our visitors, tourist and friends to start feel and express irie and one love vibes again. Those were some of the words that cause people the world over to sell their belongs and move to Jamaica in the mid and late 70's. Any where you are in this great big world and certain words are spoken chances are Jamaica have an influence on it..

Bumboocloth, rasscloth, irie, one love, pusseycloth, yeahman just to name a few.. You guys may know the Bob Marley story and Ethopia when he tried to get in. The story goes like this he went into an embassy in a nearly country to get visa to get into Ethopia. The embassy rejected his application an his way out he started to unleash some bumboocloth while walking down the street away from the embassy. Moving along he could hear a man shout in the distance yardman yardman sound got loader as the man got closer. The guy that was chasing him did not know he was Bob Marley but he heard the bumboocloth and the accent and knew that must be a Jamaican. He living in a foreign country, he was glad to know another Jamaican was there. He eventually caught up with Bob. He introduce himself and told Bob that he heard him using the word bumboocloth and he knew it must be a Jamaican...He told him he is Bob Marley and he went into the Embassy to get a visa to go to Ethiopia and was turned down. To cut the story short the guy took him back inside and he got the visa....

I said all that to say a man with the name Super-irie is one we should like to encourage to continue posting because I know he belongs to our community. Not talking Super-irie now but lots of Jamaicans are going to come and join our community and it is going to take a time for them to understand STEEM fully. I know they are going to make alot of mistakes @donald.porter @dmilliz and my self will have to get a programme in place to bring them up to speed because this not like the other social medias..

The Jamaican culture and music is accommodative. I saw another great Jamaica musician Willard White was on tv about 3 years ago. He said he was on his way to Barbados. At custom the officer ask what do you do sir? He replied, I am a Jamaican baritone singer.... He said the office stamp his passport and said you fucking Jamaicans you guys are in everything.. I think there is a space here for Willard White and others as long as they are not abusing the community in any way. Jamaican musical repertoire is vast and varied and we want to onboard as many as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to share some of these insights and stories here on my post. I appreciate this and feel as though Jamaica has become a part of me over the years- the people, the vibes, the food, the reggae music, the cool rastamon with alias names; the brain doctor, michiganz and blackz (from SKA), blue, to name a few.

The Jamaican roots are in me and they always will be because I have seen, experienced, and been a part of the culture many a times I have visited and become one with the island and the values the Jamaican people share. Never a bad time, always a good one.

I will certainly be continuing to post to reggaesteem to show and share my love - the one love. I hope to learn the ins and outs as I do, and again, I thank you for welcoming me to the community with such wipe open and embracing arms.

Respect, irie, seeeeen rastaaaa, and the like
@super-irie

Nice jhob brader

thank you

Come back

Good to see you staking :)
In addition to all the good reasons you've mentioned, reggaesteem has a great business idea and a talented team behind it. I wrote about it in this post. The other interesting thing is the comparative steem value of jahm - my 30% jahm vote is worth about 2.5 steem or about 0.40 cents, where my equivalent steem vote is worth about 0.05 cents. Again, I expect this to change over time as more people participate and it becomes more competitive to earn rewards. This post talks about the amount of tokens you need to stake to reach different levels of investment. Currently, you need to stake about 28,000 jahm to be a whale here - an investment of something like $200.
Plus, there's all the reggae :)

Thank you for sharing. I will have to check these out for sure. It's very interesting what is taking place and it will take me some time to fully comprehend, but I will get the hang as the community is extremely helpful it seems.

Yeah mon glad to see you have taken the step stake. Now keep stacking. Not a problem for the 233 JAHM, I knew you’d put them to good use given your love for Jamaica as a whole
