I still don't know whether Robert Reich is stupid or evil. Still, not everybody on his side of this debate can be dumb enough to see the glaring inconsistencies and hypocrisies in the rhetoric.

None of these people are libertarians who believe that private enterprises can do what they want so long as they don't harm others and that companies can disassociate. In fact, they're generally in favor of government forcing private businesses to provide service to clientele that they don't want. It's just when a big company decides to cater to their whims that they start telling us that private companies can do what they want.

Elon Musk buying Twitter (which I hope happens) isn't a sudden transfer of the role of gatekeeper from the common man to the wealthy. Big tech, social media companies have been an oligopoly run by the ultra rich for a long time. Musk is more ultra rich, but these are all rich people. Musk's stated goal would be to use his money and influence to create real competition in the market and take a less active role as a corporate overlord.

I hope they keep talking about this issue because, the more they do, the more they talk the more they out themselves as lacking principles and only caring about getting what they want regardless of how they get it and who provides it.
