My final words for any one in an abusive relationship would be to follow their hearts which will always tell them staying is a wrong choice. I understand not everyone is willing to let go of that significant relationship. Staying with an abuser causes alot of trauma and has sometimes led to the death of the abused. Leaving is a bold and very important step when you're with an abusive partner. So here are some necessary tips you might need to when you finally decide to leave;

Make sure to know whenever your abuser is about to go off. When you know his/her mood, you'll be able to tell when is the best time to leave.

It's important to have code words especially if you live with kids or if your neighbors are involved. This to help signal them to come to your aid or call the police when you're being abused.

It's important to have all your things and properties in order as well as set so you can leave at any moment. Always have an escape plan.

It's great to keep a list of emergency contacts who could help when you finally decide to leave. It's best to memorise their contacts and make sure they have the resources to attend to your urgent need and can respond swiftly to your call.

Your life and that of your loved ones are important, deserve respect and deserve to be cherished. I stand against an abusive relationship. The best you can do for an abuser is to help him go through treatment but he must be willing to go through this by himself/ herself with/ without your intervention.
