The Ideal Relationship? 7 Important Aspects

A relationship can either be one of the most positive things in your day to day life or one of the most negative things.

A relationship can be as simple as 2+2=4 or as complicated as a sudoku cube. I'm no relationship expert, this is solely how I view my ideal relationship, and what I'd like based off my previous relationships. I'll mention what I think are the most important aspects for things to work out between dating partners.

Trust

I'm sure you've heard that a relationship without trust most likely won't work. I completely agree with this, if you have full trust in your partner you won't have to worry about wherever he/she goes or if you're going to be cheated on.

You won't be overthinking the whole damn time and making up imaginary scenes in your head where your partner is at party snorting powdered kool aid off a Enrique Iglesias' chest. Now this can easily be taken advantage of, but that is why you're in a relationship with this person, you're not married to him/her and the point of a relationship in my opinion is to find out if that person will be your significant other and be spending the rest of your life with happily ever after.
If that person takes advantage of your trust now you know for sure you don't want to be with him/her since by forgiving your partner, they'll realize there are no serious consequences for taking advantage of your trust and will end up doing it again sooner or later.

Now trust also means you're able to tell your partner anything and I mean absolutely ANYTHING without having the fear of being judged or having a negative reaction from your partner. You can be yourself with him/her and talk about anything you'd both want to talk about and for this to happen something is required which leads to my next important aspect.

Understanding/Comprehensive

If your dating partner listens, thinks and understands before reacting... this is without a doubt a huge plus in a relationship. How many times have partners had problems over some little gossip, or simply a little misunderstanding? To avoid these kind of problems it is necessary to analyze and comprehend the situation before taking action.

Honesty

By always speaking the truth when required (I mention when required because some people say the meanest most rudest things by always speaking the truth although it can be funny in certain situations) you're gaining your partner's trust with time. Slowly adding points to your relationship by both being honest. Think to yourself, why lie? Why take advantage of someone that is trusting what you are saying and genuinely cares for you? Do you want things to be worse when he/she find out you have lied to him/her? Do you want to risk something like that which would only cause distrust in future situations?

Being honest will have your partner get to know you 100% contrary to 50% if you lie half of the time. Now what do you prefer?

Being Direct

I love me someone who is direct. A person who can tell you what they want, how, when, where... okay maybe I exaggerated a bit there, maybe not. But when your partner lets you know for example when he/she is upset without having you guess first, you can just move on to the next step which is making him/her feel better.

Instead of your partner feeling upset and having you guess so, followed by you not guessing right, then having him/her being more upset for you not guessing right. Come on this isn't middle school romance, if you want something, need something or simply feel the need to let your dating partner know anything simply tell them. It is seriously that easy and simple in my opinion without having to play games and make something so little a huge problem. So much drama can be avoided this way.

Fun

Every relationship has their own way of enjoying time with each other. Whether it be with humor, playfighting, going to different places together, getting fat together, playing video games or all of these activities combined doing something different each day! If you both know the correct time and place to enjoy each other's company and are serious and mature when you have to be, time together spent is definitely one of the best ways you can simply enjoy life together.

Equality

This is something that many relationships, at least where I reside, lack. Due to a partner, mainly males, wanting to be more controlling or manipulative than the other. This is completly unfair to me. Its either you both are able to do a certain thing or you're both not able to. For example, going out with friends for some drinks, or snorting kool aid powder off Enrique Iglesias' chest. Of course you can always go to places together but I believe its best for both to get some time off of each other every now and then, since always being together everyday could maybe get a bit dull or routinelike. Although I certainly know that isn't always the case for some relationships. But personally, I enjoy some alone time or some friends time.

Geniunely Caring For One Another

Last but not least important, truly wanting the best for your partner, wanting to see him/her smile every time you have the chance, wanting for him/her to have the best of anything possible and simply wanting your dating partner to enjoy life is one of the best things a person could wish for you.

And not only for a relationship, this includes family, friends and even strangers. It is something we don't realize often, that needs to be appreciated anytime possible. Knowing someone wants the best for you and yourself wanting the best for that special person or people in life is a real motiviation to keep going on in life. To work hard and strive to achieve your ambitions and goals as each day goes by. Indeed this is a beautiful aspect in life, and an aspect I hope we can all have if not give. And by giving without expecting anything in return, sooner or later life with bring you good.

To have all these aspects may take some time, but surely is worth the time spent and more if you manage to share these with your dating partner. A relationship isn't going to be perfect all the time, there will be good and bad times. But what matters is how you both manage the bad times and are able to overcome them together. Keep in mind that without bad moments in life we wouldn't aprreciate enough the good ones.
