There's an episode of Malcolm in the Middle where a woman, who's in AA, shows up to make amends for allegedly kissing Hal when he was married to Lois. Lois forgives Hal with surprising alacrity while Hal insists that it never happened.
At the end of the episode, it turns out that it did never happen. The woman was just so drunk that she didn't remember who she made out with. Hal had always been faithful.
This resulted in a scene wherein Lois is having a problem. She felt that, if Hal did have that moment of weakness, that they may love each other equally; but, since he didn't, she's worried that he may love her more than she loves him.
Hal's response (of course, played by Bryan Cranston) was kinda perfect.
To paraphrase:
Of course I love you more. I need to love you more. If you loved me as much as I love you, we'd never leave the bedroom. We wouldn't get anything done. Our lives would collapse if you loved me as much as I loved you.
It might surprise people; but, I know the feeling. I think that every man who has ever been genuinely in love knows the feeling.
People may read that line of "we'd never leave the bedroom" as a guy simply saying he likes sex a lot -- of course; we do -- but that's not it either. For men, our access to physical intimacy is largely restricted to female partners. Once we find one, we really don't want to let go.
