Why do the guys always have to put in the effort?...

in relationships •  7 years ago  (edited)

I was speaking to a close friend the other day and we got to talking about relationships and why he has no hope for them anymore. It turns out that what he was saying is actually absolutely true. One very seldom finds the female in the relationship/potential relationship actually making an effort for the male in said relationship. Now why is this?

I think the influence of movies and TV series have had a massive impact on this vision that the guy in the relationship always has to put in the effort and none or very little is to be done by the girl. That is completely wrong. Yes there might be some guys out there who are happy to put in all of the effort while their female counterpart just sits on the side and does nothing. But that does not and should not apply to all relationships.

Why must a guy put in all the effort? Why can a girl not do that instead? Why can it not be shared between them?

I know so many guys who put in the effort for a girl they like only to get it all thrown back in their faces. Then there are those girls who would lead a guy on and pull them behind them by a string until one day to just cut them off without any word or warning.
Ladies, this is pathetic. You are not put on this earth to be waited on hand and foot by a 'boy toy' so please stop acting like it.

A relationship should have effort put in from both sides. That would make each partner equal. If only everybody understood that it takes two to tango.

Every girl wants their dream guy who is always there and does everything for them but they can only do it if you return the favor. Don't lead them on. Don't toy with them. Be honest. Be truthful. Be kind.
