Keep being real and authentic. Controversy is important and healthy especially when you can keep it rational. People have a lot to learn about life and the infinite variables of it. You push a lot of boundaries but also provide opportunities for new perspective.
There won't be a time when everyone agrees so disagreement and unfortunately judgement/ridicule will continue on. Though its important to stick to your ideals as that is how you can inspire the ones who are ready.
