Today, I had this conversation with my friend talking about pity in our past relationships. Have you ever been in this situation that right after experiencing a broke-up, you start to realize "oh! I should have done it in this way! What a pity that it didn’t work out!" and get into this deep dark hole of regression for that relationship?
Our conversation reminds me of a Chinese movie called The Ex-File 3: The Return of the Exes. It was one of the most popular movies in China. The story started with a fight between a young couple, the lady rushed out of the door with her luggage but the guy didn’t chase her back as usual. The ending of the movie is cruel, miserable, resonated, but realistic. An interesting fact about this movie is - Plenty of people went back to their exes after watching this movie to fill the regrets of the years.
In Series of Life, we will meet people that come in just in time and be your good companies and witnesses in that particular episode. When we are going into the next episode, there might be another person taking over the job of the previous person – just like part of the process wedding, after the bride’s father walks her through the red carpet, he needs to hand the bride’s hand to her husband. Meaning sometimes we have to admit the fact that as one of the leading characters they have completed their mission on this episode – they are still one of the actors in your life, but no longer the leading character in the next episode. This was well interpreted in the movie.
Lastly, we love, we treasure, we reflect. Life is not perfect, we will have pity, but it could be a beautiful pity with all the good memories. From the pity, we learned, we grow, until we are well-prepared to meet the right ones.
Sending thanks to everyone in our lives, for being our witnesses and teachers. Wish all our exes find their right ones in the next episode.
