Aquatic animals are vertebrates or invertebrates and live in water for most or all of their lives. Many insects, such as mosquitoes, may, dragonflies and echinopods, have aquatic larvae and winged adults. They may breathe air or extract oxygen dissolved in water through specialized organs called specialized or directly through their skin. Aquatic animals (especially freshwater animals) are often concerned by conservationists due to the fragility of their environment and are under pressure from overfishing, destructive fishing, marine pollution and climate change. Many habitats are at risk, which also puts aquatic animals at risk. These animals play an important role in the world. The biodiversity of aquatic animals can provide food, energy and even work.
It is up to us to help preserve these wonderful animals even if only by spreading their beauty in their natural habitats.
