So many Christians have been left with the question if we are to pray FOR or AGAINST our "enemies"

I remember a verse in the old testament that talked about suffering not a which to live and also the Moses an eye for an eye theory. The name Christian meant people who lived like Jesus Christ, who during his life in earth taught and practiced continuously any like love.

This question had been answered in the new testament where it said "pray for your enemies cause it's as if you placing heap of fiery coal on there heads. And it was seen when Stephen was stoned to death as he prayed for God's forgiveness on his stoners. Jesus also did same while on the cross. I really wonder where Christians got the ideology of praying against your "enemies".

It's clearly written in 1 THESSALONIANS 5:15 AMP = See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek that which is good for one another and for all people.
