Jeremiah 35:13

13 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel;
Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken
to my words? saith the Lord.

In Jeremiah 35, God addressed the Jews using a contrast between the Rachebites - a clan that closely followed the instructions of their father - and the nation of Judah, which had refused to listen to and obey the words of their God.

Jeremiah 35:14-15

14 The words of Jehonadab the son of Rechab, that
he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are
performed; for unto this day they drink none, but
obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I
have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but
ye hearkened not unto me.
15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the
prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying,
Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend
your doings, and go not after other gods to serve
them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have
given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not
inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

God had sent messenger after messenger - men like Moses, Isaiah and others - to speak warnings to His people. He was about to speak a message of judgment through Jeremiah, not because He didn't love and value His people (He most certainly did), but because they refused to hear and act on what He had already told them.

The Bible is filled with examples of the blessings God's people received when they obeyed their heavenly Father. But it also contains many examples of those who failed to listen to Him when He spoke. If you want to be among those who hear and act on God's Word, ask yourself how you should respond when you're confronted with an uncomfortable biblical truth or word of instruction. Ask yourself what your attitude should be when a Christian brother or sister lovingly points out something in you that needs to change, or when God Himself speaks to you in His still, small voice. Obeying God always brings about what is best for us.

God Bless and Happy Weekend!!

A teachable spirit and a humbleness to admit your ignorance or your mistake will save you a lot of pain...Thanks for another religion related content. @deathlyhorror

Amen God does not help to receive the word of exhortation with meekness

Such an great teachable lesson dear friend @deathlyhorror. God teaches us all lessons by bible as we follow it then we are all successful. God loves and protects us all as we follow God's rules.

I think experiencing when God or someone talks to us about something that we should change can be very hard but if we are receptive and sincere with ourselves about what is happening things can improve and of course if we have the will to change and honor the Father.

It can be more bearable when we follow Jesus and we are willing to diminish so that Jesus grows in us.

Scriptures says God exalt the humble. Even meekness must be our heart disposition to receive Gods engrafted word and we must equally submit to God himself.

to be a good person you must abide your religion..

to accept the correccion we must be humble

Agreed. Humility is very important.

The Lord blesses those who obey Him, but He abhors disobedience, so as He loves us, He gives us opportunities to turn away from the evil way or disobedience. His love is infinite but he is also slow to anger, that is, he gets upset even though late. So we should not provoke it and stay faithful in its ways. Not out of fear, but out of love for our Lord.

Humility is a fruit of the spirit, and always give room for growth and honour. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.
Thanks for sharing @deathlyhorror.

this word is powerful @deathlyhorror, you hit the target .. many christian brothers do not receive the exhortation of good form, but it is that the word of God is hard for those who do not walk rightly .

Hebrews 4: 12-13. Because the Word of God is alive and effective, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and penetrates to split the soul and spirit, the joints and the marrow, and discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
