In the previous post we explained the meaning of the dream of St. John Bosco about the Pillar of the Eucharist and the shorter pillar of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Help of Christians. In the dream, as the pope anchors the barque of St. Peter to the two pillars the battle changes in the favor of the Church.
Is there any doubt that there has been widespread disrespect to the Blessed Sacrament in the last seventy years? Now, we have Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, writing in a recent book :
“The most insidious diabolical attack consists in trying to extinguish faith in the Eucharist, by sowing errors and fostering an unsuitable way of receiving it. Truly the war between Michael and his Angels on one side, and Lucifer on the other, continues in the hearts of the faithful.”

Cardinal Sarah is advocating communion on the tongue and kneeling to remedy the problem of sacrilegious reception.
In 1980 Pope John Paul II apologized for the disrespect to the Eucharist. The following is a direct quote from Dominicae Caene written and promulgated in 1980 and addressed to all the bishops of the Church. I could not get the Vatican website to work so I am posting the quote from another website as noted.
“As I bring these considerations to an end, I would like to ask forgiveness in my own name and in the name of all of you, venerable and dear brothers in the episcopate. for everything which, for whatever reason, through whatever human weakness, impatience or negligence, and also through the at times partial, one-sided and erroneous application of the directives of the Second Vatican Council, may have caused scandal and disturbance concerning the interpretation of the doctrine and the veneration due to this great sacrament. And I pray the Lord Jesus that in the future we may avoid in our manner of dealing with this sacred mystery anything which could weaken or disorient in any way the sense of reverence and love that exists in our faithful people.”

We can only pray and request our bishops to restore communion on the tongue and kneeling. Maybe the bishops can read Pope John Paul II’s Domenicae Caene at Mass on the Feast of Corpus Christi this year. Let's pray.

That is a good article, Amen
