Fatima: The Angel Taught the Children How to Receive Communion

At Fatima, the Angel of Portugal taught the children a prayer of reparation to God Almighty.

Should we not also accept and pray this same prayer?

The Angel of Portugal appeared to the three children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, at Fatima, even before the apparitions of Our Lady and taught them this prayer to the Most Holy Trinity.

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer you the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference with which He Himself is offended. And through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners. Amen.

The Angel then rose, and taking the host he gave it to Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco and then gave them the contents of the chalice, saying as he did so:

"Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Repair their crimes and console your God."

Then he prostrated himself once more with the children and repeated the prayer to the Most Holy Trinity three times, then disappeared.

The events at Fatima are well known among those who grew up with the prayers for the conversion of sinners and of Russia. Many among the younger generations have not been taught the lessons delivered in 1916 and 1917 by the Angel and Our Lady at Fatima. This prayer was given to the three children just prior to the grand apparitions of Our Lady at the Cova de Iria Fatima.

Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, warns that Satan is targeting the Mass and the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Cardinal Sarah wrote (as quoted in our previous post):

“The most insidious diabolical attack consists in trying to extinguish faith in the Eucharist, by sowing errors and fostering an unsuitable way of receiving it. Truly the war between Michael and his Angels on one side, and Lucifer on the other, continues in the hearts of the faithful"

Additionally, he wrote:

"….Satan’s target is the Sacrifice of the Mass and the Real Presence of Jesus in the consecrated Host,”

This prayer of reparation is a defense against Satan's targeting of the Mass and the Eucharist. Parents and catechists should teach this prayer to the young. Indeed all of us should pray this and be grateful to Our Lord for all he has done for us. Let’s also listen to Cardinal Sarah and show respect and honor to Our Lord Who is present in the Consecrated Host, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.
