Some interesting questions from the debate genre.

A couple of years back, when I started out using youtube I was fascinated by the debates between atheists and religionists I found there.

You could almost call it the religious/atheist debate genre.

I found in these debates some interesting points being made on both sides.

It left me with new ideas and perspectives to explore to decide where the truth on these questions lay.

I must say it led to some serious study and reflection on topics I had previously only brushed over lightly.

Here are a couple of links with some of the guys I found really interesting to listen too. Sometimes for the quality of the debate. Quite often just because of their wonderful command of the english language and great intellects on display.

Richard Dawkins and Alister McGrath

Christopher Hitchens, quite rabid in his opinions but his command of English is astounding

Lawrence Krauss and William Lane Craig

On the topic of debates, we have had some fun ones here on steemit.

Many of these played out in the comments sections of religious posts.

With new incentives being devised and commenting encouraged and rewarded better, perhaps its time to have a few of these again?

Please leave a couple of topics raised, in the debates in the videos I have linked to, that you would like to see fleshed out and lets see if we can start a couple of robust but respectful discussions on these subject over the coming weeks.

Have you watched any of Matt Dillahunty's videos? I think his Athiest Debates are some of the clearest logic/reason/philosophy out there in this genre. I also relate to his personal perspective as I too was in ministry and a very strong believer for most of my life. His videos can be found here: https://m.youtube.com/user/SansDeity

I'll check him out...
