I would dispute this. In essence I do not imagine that the old laws would be done away with. They would be guidelines for the rightous to follow as their love of God and their desire to be more like him would encourage one to live as Christ would live as he lived according to the Law of God and not the Law of Men. What is done away with is the death penalties and stonings prescribed for breaking the laws. This is the thumbnail version, but I can expound further with scripture at a later date
