I think you're reaching a little bit in Corinthians. I agree that Paul seems to think marriage helps people avoid sin, but he does not make it clear which acts he's referring to. It seems just as possible that he's not saying cohabitation with a partner is explicitly wrong, but that a partner in marriage can guide you in ALL aspects of life. Otherwise why would the passage be so vague?
