Scientific inquiry, in its ideal form, is supposed to proceed from a position of ignorance or tentative belief in something, to the apprehension of a claim about reality, about existence, suggested or supported by evidence, which, upon obtaining new and contradictory superior evidence leads to the abandoning of the claim and a continuing search for new knowledge. with the appropriate humility.
By contrast religious belief starts with faith in a litany of claims and eagerly accepts any corroborating evidence while disregarding or discarding any apparently conflicting evidence. "Knowledge" adjudicates evidence rather than the other way round.
Not being equipped for this level of theological inquiry, I did not know what to say.
