Today I would like to look at James 4 verse 1 to 3
1)Where do all the fights and quarrels among you come from? They come from your desires for pleasure, which are constantly fighting within you.
2)You want things, but you cannot have them, so you are ready to kill; you strongly desire things, but you cannot get them, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have what you want because you do not ask God for it.
3)And when you ask, you do not receive it, because your motives are bad; you ask for things to use for your own pleasures.
Our attitude towards worldly possessions shows if we live in the correct relationship with God. We must crucify our worldly desires and we must not have the desire to increase our possessions to the detriment of others. In prayer we must not just think of satisfying our own desires but we must think of others and the honor of God.

You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. {3} When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
