Today I would like to look at 2 Timothy 3 verse 1 to 5

1)Remember that there will be difficult times in the last days.
2)People will be selfish, greedy, boastful, and conceited; they will be insulting, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and irreligious;
3)they will be unkind, merciless, slanderers, violent, and fierce; they will hate the good;
4)they will be treacherous, reckless, and swollen with pride; they will love pleasure rather than God;
5)they will hold to the outward form of our religion, but reject its real power. Keep away from such people.

Here Paul is warning about the difficult times that lay ahead in the last days and describes the characteristics of the world. Then he gives a command "Stay away from such people". We as Christians must also make sure that we don't show these characteristics ourselves.

Staying away makes it difficult to be "in the world, but not of the world". To the extent that people acting as described above rubs off on you, and you respond in kind, I would encourage someone to keep their distance. However, to the extent that you could respond to evil with love, and keep your eyes fixed on the true Lover of your soul throughout, I would encourage that person to stay engaged. That is often beyond me though, I must say.

The parts of the earth will be closer.
Education will be revolutionized, but religion will be ignorant about education.
Women will be immersed in indecency. The women's beauty practice center is widespread Expansion will occur.
Women will hold the shape of the male and the female woman will hold the shape.
Some Muslims will drink alcohol in another name.
There will be a wide spread of interest among the people. 10. Congratulations and greetings will be cursed by people.
Earthquakes will increase in many parts of the earth.
Suddenly, the number of dead will increase and the murder will increase.
People will be beautiful, and the work will be ugly.
The daughters will govern their mother and the mothers will be imitated.
Behparda people will lead the society.

Your closing line above, "We as Christians must also make sure that we don't show these characteristics ourselves." is for me the heart of the matter. I know Paul's instruction to "stay away" is important, but its when I begin to exhibit these traits that I know I and God need to begin some serious wrestling to come to terms with just how off the mark I've begun to move. I'm thankful that God is patient enough to actually wrestle me to the ground and get some sense pounded back into me... but I am stubborn and some lessons have to be repeated over and over and over again.
