But he who repeats a matter separates friends.
We must forget mistakes made in the past, we must not bring past mistakes up again, love do not talk about old mistakes over and over again. The more we become like Christ, the easier it will become to forgive people who wronged us!!

This is a very instructive verse of scripture. I'd like everyone here to personalize it.
Very often God wants us to experience the river of His love flooding our hearts but we don't take our minds over our past transgressions that God has covered already. We keep beating ourselves up over what God has already covered, and thus we hinder ourselves from basking in the provisions of His love.
Believers must remember that in order to allow love flow we must allow transgressions remain covered. Let's not keep reopening what God has covered.
Secondly, the next part of the verse says the one who repeats a matter separates friends. Again, I'd like someone to personalize this.
God calls you His friend. It wasn't you who first called Him friend. God is more interested in the longevity of this friendship that you are. He is not busy recanting your short comings. No, He's not seeking to separate the friendship but to make it grow even stronger.
Let's learn not to repeat what God isn't repeating.
In Philippians 4:8 He told us to focus on what's good, lovely, honest, pure, praise worthy etc. This is exactly how He is too. God focuses on the best in you.
Those who focus on their failings will never get to really enjoy their friendship with God.
