Imagining others are degenerate is little more than imagining you are superior to others.

When I assess someone's power, I look for humility, because those are the individuals who are not blindsided so easily.

I submit to you that strong individuals are humble.

To imagine superiority to anyone in any way, physically, mentally or idealistically, cultivates blindness in my opinion.

Beeeeg hugs @valorforfreedom, please come say hi sometime :)

To imagine superiority to anyone in any way, physically, mentally

...what if it's not imaginantion, and an actual-fact_.
Like, say - the IQ bell curve.
Some people are mentally superior to other people, as are athletes by comparison..

...cultivates blindness in my opinion.

To not see the differences, is cultivating a blindness to reality, surely?

l

Superiority only exists with one-dimensional analysis.

You can run faster than another person that might make you superior in your field of speed, but that doesn't mean you measured any other aspect of biology, ideology or mental aspects. Just because you can lift a bigger weight than someone else doesn't mean you will accomplish greater things, true strength can not be measured like that, its subtle.

My rhetoric is not delusional, it reflects on universal wisdom.

Those who reflect on their own superiority become blind to their own weakness. True strength is derived from all aspects of life, not a single measurable dimension, the strongest among us, in my experience, are those that are least likely to make mistakes, not the most likely to perform better using a single measurement.

This is the very reason why athletes have short lived careers, because their lives are one dimensional, they quickly get replaced. Kung Fu experts are different, they cultivate every aspect of life that they are aware of, and attempt to become aware of more aspects that they can improve, all the while being humble, because pride is blind, and in nothingness lies everything.

The grain of salt that is a grain of salt sinks to the bottom of the cup of water, and in being everything, is nothing.

The grain of salt that is nothing dissolves into the cup of water, an in being nothing, is everything.

This is the teaching of the daoist heart sutra, and it is reflected in all teachings including all classical western teachings.

There is more to life than measurable, one dimensional performance, the strength that can not be measured is true strength.

When I look for those that are capable of big things, I look for those that don't fall into the common trappings of pride, self-importance, bigotry, any form of wasted divinity.

...When I look for those that are capable of big things,...

You have to look for those qualities in them, in which they are superior in, no?

Its not that simple, someone who is strong and proud will not achieve what someone who is not so strong, but not proud, can.

Things play out in unexpected ways, and learning how to identify the subtle factors gives one greater accuracy than the mundane facts can render, because it reveals where the surprises may lie, and life is full of surprises, in fact the future is always more surprising than predictable.

I look for the absence of blindness and for knowledge of self, that is what makes us capable of great things in my experience, and neither are easily measured but both are easily recognized, its called strength of character.

No fact about you will give you what strength of character can.

Its not that simple, someone who is strong and proud will not achieve what someone who is not so strong, but not proud, can.

Like, for example..?

Things play out in unexpected ways, and learning how to identify the subtle factors gives one greater accuracy than the mundane facts can render, because it reveals where the surprises may lie, and life is full of surprises, in fact the future is always more surprising than predictable.

How do you mean? I don't understand ..Can you clarify it for me, a little?

easy: proud people become blind to their own weaknesses and make mistakes.

humble people are more prone to find a win win situation than a personal victory, accomplishing bigger things.

humble people are less prone to making mistakes because they don't just expect success

people who consider better what others have to say tend to consider more things, and more possibilities open up when interacting with them, plus there is the benefit that they listen to you too ;)

also, serious people are hindering themselves every step of the way, I look for those that are sincere without being serious, those people display strength of character and are natural leaders.

Think for a moment about who you've cooperated with and assisted the most in your life, was it people who were so proud they just dismissed you? or was it people who gave you their own time and consideration, your cooperation and assistance benefited them and they would never have had that power without their social strengths and ability to see your virtues.

These are examples of two of the countless subtle traits that can make people stronger in an immeasurable way, mastery of ones own nature necessarily includes a cultivation of a humble and sincere mind, because within that lies greater strength.

I'll ask once more...

Examples to clarify, and not further descriptions, please...

You are wasting your time Lucy.

Possibly....

Update - it looks so far that flagging the war has ceased (someone with a fair bit of 'influence' had a 'quiet word', I think).

No flags today - for the first time since it started - so looking good.

Thanks again for your support matey - If you even need some yourself (even with my tiny SP)

You'll get it one day ;)

There are plenty of people out there who are less than you in every conceivably measurable way, but will do greater things, chances or no chances.
