The Power of the Word

John 14:14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

The first verse in the Bible tells us about the creation of the heavens and earth. In verse number 3 we read;

Then God said, Let there be light and there was light.

There is so much power in the spoken Word of God that when Jesus Christ was tempted by Satan in the desert for forty days and forty nights, He did not tell him to buzz off.

Jesus could quite easily have done that because He is God! Instead, every time the devil attacked the Lord with words, He answered with scripture,

Luke 4:4 It is written; Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God.
Luke 4:12 And Jesus answered and said to him, It is has been said, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.

Jesus knows the power of the spoken word. Remember, the battle is in the mind, not in the heart.

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

As we speak the Word by faith, God answers it.
