Zesty Lemons, Babysitting and Sunsets WA Style!

Hi there from Daisy in WA!

Just a quick update on things over here and only my second Steemit post! If you didn't see the first one, I'm new to the Steemit community and looking forward to sharing some of my life here in Western Australia with you!

Most of the time I'm engaged in normal, everyday pursuits but the backdrop of WA beaches and all year round blue skies makes it a pretty special place to live. We've hardly travelled at all in the 7 years we've lived here, as most of the time we feel like we're already on holiday, and as much as we can we try to appreciate our lovely environment here.

When we first emigrated from the UK we were particularly blessed to rent a home beside the water, and I'll share some of our early years adventures with you at some point. However eventually we decided it was time to fully commit to our life here and bought our first home, a run down, 1970's retro nightmare! This photo is NOT of that home. No, this gorgeous canal side home is just around the corner from where we lived for 4 years, and this one is rented by friends of ours.

I was invited to babysit the other night and jumped at the chance as it gives me the opportunity to kick back and relax by the water and forget about renovating for a few minutes. Well once I've put the kids to bed and poured a glass of wine it does!

I couldn't help notice they had an over abundance of lemons that seemed to be hurling themselves from their lemon tree and rolling down the hill towards the canal.

I thought it would be rude to let them go to waste...

I also couldn't help admiring their flower border which was in full bloom, I didn't acquire any though, I just admired them from a distance...

I did however acquire another glass of wine to watch the sunset...

...which was, as always, blissful.

I went home tired and grateful.

Grateful for the lemons, the wine and the sunset.

Tired from being tricked into telling three lots of bedtime stories.

"Tell us a story from your childhood"

"Oh okay give me a minute, my childhood was like a millennia ago..."

"While you're thinking of something read us this book"

"Okay"

....one Mr Men book and two childhood stories later (the first childhood story wasn't long enough apparently) and I was ready for bed let alone the children!

Babysitting can be such hard work.
