The Steem platform is changing its approach to representation, moving away from the country representative system and instead appointing "Steem Representatives" based on their overall commitment and contributions to the platform. The new Steem Representatives will be rewarded with delegations and votes on their weekly reports, and will be expected to promote and support Steem and its new projects and initiatives. Existing Country Reps will need to reapply, and new applicants should meet certain criteria including having a minimum amount of Steem Power, a reputation of at least 70, and a clear record of supporting other Steemians across the platform. Applications should be submitted with an explanation of why the applicant would make a good Steem Representative and the deadline for submissions is March 3rd, 2023. The goal is to eventually have 40 Steem Representatives appointed.
