I used to have two Geckos as pets.

They were pretty relaxed and I could hold them.

They lived for about 6 months but slowly stopped eating.

I may get some more in the future but I think I need to find out where I went wrong with them.

Hahaha (sry haha), how long are they supposed to live usually?

Hah yeah I love their faces.. When they would bite your finger it would hardly hurt, kinda cute.

I hear up to 10-20 years, so I think I went wrong somewhere along the way.

Haha, yes that sounds very cute; compared with Komodo dragons lol.

Oh, yes, that does not sound good then. "Clarify us" asap. :D

Your geckos look beautiful, the motif on the skin is bright 🦎👍

@santiintan

Ah good to know, wow those look big. Hah.. I hope they do not disturb you too much with the fighting. Really cool looking! thanks for sharing the pic!

Your welcome @solominer

Great pictures.

I used to catch lizards and frogs when I was growing up. I wanted to keep them, but my grandfather said they’d die “cooped up.” It’s interesting… I’ve known a other folks who kept some type of small lizards as pets and a failure to thrive seems endemic to lizards in domestic captivity. Yet, the ones in the habits at zoos seem to do well.

@momzillanc

I think my mom would get mad at me if I did that, I also grew up in the city so not too many things to catch.. Just squirrels lol.. But that makes since, they are used to being wild so cooping them up probably is too much of a change for them. And yeah I think you're right, maybe my gecko enclosure was too small.. good chance that was the problem. thanks for sharing your story!
