I love the Z80. It was a huge step up in usability from the 8080.
I would probably still be using it if the PIC microcontrollers hadn't come out.

The only experience I have with Z80 based computers is with the TRS Model IIIs and IVs we had in my programming class when I was a freshman in High School (and they were already terribly outdated then). Of course, we were just doing BASIC programming so the fact that it was a Z80 didn't matter much. Though I do have a Commodore 128 which has a Z80 as a secondary processor...

Yep, you need to have a bit of experience laying out circuit boards before you can understand the huge difference between the Z80 and the 8080. Else, they are pretty much identical.
