The E3 is now in full swing and we are finally happy because it allows us, in addition to discover a lot of new things, to find old friends and see what they have become all this time.
The saga God of War has been the good day of Sony for almost 10 years and it must be said that the first opus released on PS2 had figured for a lot of real revelation. An ultra stuffed, gore game, located in full Greek mythology but in hyper-venerable mode, with hot puzzles from time to time. The recipe could very well not take, but, know by what miracle, the developers of Santa Monica Studio had found the magic formula and we had all been blown.
But it was nothing compared to the fantastic defamation that began on the hats with the now cult scene of the Colossus of Rhodes that had to be screwed from the inside at the price of an epic combat. An entry that never faded as much as an obvious technical feat. The third episode was also a great time, because the Playstation 3 allowed new things, but if the adventure was still as tense, it began to turn somewhat to the expected formula. If the game was fun, it was unfortunately more surprising. After a few other smaller games, it seemed that Kratos finally retired until last year, the announcement of a new God of War made its appearance with a first trailer of the most surprising since there is Discovered our phantom of aged and especially bearded Sparta.
A trend confirmed by the trailer presented a few hours ago at E3 and which proves that this new God of War may well shake our habits. If the game always seems nasty, the change of scenery is rather brutal as we move from Greek mythological landscapes to the cold of northern mythology in an atmosphere that evokes a cross between Skyrim and The Lord of the Rings. If it is a bit disturbing at first to see our hero in this climate, the suite is to the side since it is no longer equipped with its famous swords but indeed an ax and seems more focused on the Fighting with bare hands. But the biggest novelty of course is the appearance of a kid, supposedly his son, who will accompany him throughout his adventure and that the player can interpret from time to time. Which is likely to bring a small side Co-op 'to the game as much as it obviously thinks The Last of Us.
Still technically it is still as impressive, that the story looks exciting and that the usual massacre still seems to be de rigueur. God of War seems to have evolved with its time and we just hope that the final product, which will be released early next year, will fulfill this beautiful promise.
