The arrival of AMD Ryzen processors has necessitated the arrival of new motherboards, support for DDR4 RAM and the need for new heatsinks or anchor systems for today's systems. Noctua is a leading company in the manufacture and development of high quality heatsink and performance and has launched a sink with anchor compatible with the new AM4 socket motherboards. We must emphasize that Noctua manufactures the best heatsinks on the market and are the most recognized among fans and hardware lovers, as in the case of the Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4.

If something is characteristic of this Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 heatsink is its high quality construction, made of high quality aluminum blocks covered by five heatpipes that start from the bottom of the heatsink to the upper area, which cross all the fins of Aluminum in both halves, making this an excellent heatsink that guarantees us that all the heat generated by the processor will be dissipated in an effective way and even allows a small overclocking, not to a large extent, but somewhat restrained. The fan offers a high air pressure, which allows a very effective dissipation.

CHARACTERISTICS

The Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 is a single block tower heater that has a height of 150mm, which has two blocks of aluminum fins, which are crossed by five heatpipes. This SE-AM4 is a special edition developed to be compatible with the AMD Ryzen processors, incorporating the SecuFirm2 mounting system, for the socket AM4. The heatsink features the Noctua NF-A15 PWM fan, which is 140mm in size and highly silent. What makes it especially quiet is the SSO2 bearing system (which we will explain below). Together with the heatsink, the NT-H1 ends paste, which has the characteristic of being one of the best thermal pastes on the market with a high efficiency in transferring temperature from the processor to the heatsink.

It should be noted that the Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 only has the anchor for the AMR4 motherboards, so this heatsink does not have the anchors for the Intel processors. This heatsink is compatible with most of the modules of RAM with heatsink of the market, because it has a space of 32mm for modules of RAM, reason why we must take it into account when acquiring this heatsink as well as the RAM modules.

On the fan, we must emphasize that the fan Noctua NF-A15 PWM, has a fan of 140mm, which allows to work at different speeds. This fan has an anchoring system Low-Noise Adapter that allows to work at a speed of between 300rpm and 1500rpm. The fan offers us a high static pressure, which improves the performance of heat dissipation and quiet operation of the system. It is anchored to the heatsink by means of a system of anti-vibration honeycombs designed for the fan to have a separation of 5mm, which allows to improve the sound level.

SPECIFICATIONS

Noctua has developed a powerful heatsink Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4, with two blocks of aluminum fins that has a maximum height of 160mm, a width of 150mm and a thickness of 135mm, all without fan, while with fan the width Is not altered, but the height with fans is 165mm and the thickness is 161mm. This heatsink without fan has a weight of 580 grams, while the weight with fan is 755 grams. The five heatpipes, as well as the base of the heatsink are copper, while the fins, as we have highlighted, are made of aluminum.

On the fan, we must say that it makes use of the Noctua NF-A15 PWM, which integrates the innovative SSO2 bearings, which allow a really reduced sound level. This fan has a base working speed of 300RPM, while the maximum speed of rotation is 1500RPM, which allows a maximum flow rate of 140.2 cubic meters per hour and the sound level is 24.6dBA. This fan has an effective consumption of 1.56W, with a working voltage of 12V.
