“Good Time” is following a musical form. I mean there is a construction that organize like a symphony that moves on from one movement to another untill fade into the silence at the end. First scene of the movie starts with music and this music starts to get down as the scene settles down, but when this stability get impaired, the music comes back again. In other words, we can say that this movie is developed based on successive sequences of active and inactive moments. All the active moments followed by music on the background and all the inactive moments sails into the silence. These parts and spaces between them are very regular and this order never collapsed. All these elements makes the movie very catchy and you are never get tired of watching it. Also it causes that especially in the second half of the movie, you may feel that fictional time is equal to the real-life time.

Film started with a common cinematic scene. Camera from up in the sky, comes down and goes near to one building and then one especial window. This reveals two things: first of all it references to and inspired by cinematic traditions of 70’s Hollywood cinema. Second of all it reveals that movie narrated by an omniscient narrative who supposed to be illustrator of suffers of one social class that may lives next to us in the city. But from visually viewpoint, this movie is beyond of traditional point of view. Colors and neon lights are arranged carefully and gives a modern setting to the film. In one scene, we saw, a colorful bomb exploded and faces and dresses of characters get red. In next scene, we saw, the same characters tried to find a way to get rid of the red spots, and meanwhile we could see the same red color in all of their surroundings. In other words, tried to get rid of the spots (conditions) that society forced them into it and reveals their real personality but all the surroundings and people around them are infected by the same situation and same spots that there is no way for our characters to fight, fight for their lives. Of course, the movie, always remains them the possibility of redemption from that bitter past and eventually after many up and downs, characters grant this redemption as a gift. For “Connie” this redemption happens when he saw that his “Past life” falling down of window of the building at the end of the movie. For his brother “Nick” who also has some disability, this redemption is coming with his emancipation from his brother’s dominant at the last scene.

The first scene of the movie started when a psychologist wants that Nick talk about his feelings of words but Nick presume that if the doctor write his words on paper, he may take advantage on him. This issue maybe is one of the key point of the movie. One group of people are controled the words and languages (or you might want to say “language games”) and they are the ones who also controled everything in our world. They controled others fate too and achieve to all of their desires. But as if this power is only in hand one special group of people who we may called them Bourgeois. In other words, as i mentioned before, people in lower classes has no access to media and expressive powers, so that they forced to fight for they lives. Emphasis on this matter does not only diminished to that mentioned scene, but also we can see this stress on power launguage frequently. In one scene, for example, a guard is poisened by drugs, so that he lost his ability to speak and he can’t prove his innocense. In other words, he fell down from the power and wealth social class to the lower classes and the only reason is that he can not speak. In another scene, the man who helped to runaway from hospital tell Connie that he argued with a taxi driver. The reason of this fight is because the feelings that two of them have for the words of each other. Runaway person has been unhappy of continual talking of driver and driver feel nervous when he heared the word of “jail”. So that they involve in a fight just because of the words. Lets go back to the matter of redemption of Nick in the last scene. He rescued when he finally find a media who express all of his feelings and thoughts and he join that media.
