Welcome, dear readers!
Prior to the celebration of the anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the great Patriotic War (22.06.1941-09.05.1945) one week. I want to remember in the remaining time before this significant event in the life of each of us together with you about the heroic deeds of our soldiers on the battlefields, about how the hardships of war were endured by ordinary, peaceful people who forged Victory in the factories where they made military equipment and weapons, produced goods that helped our soldiers to fight the enemy, and also cultivated crops in the fields of the country, those that were not affected by the war.
Last year I wrote a series of posts about the monuments set to the heroes Of the War, and this year I want to write several reviews on films about the war. Films that have long been considered classics of cinema.
These films, for the most part, are so touching that it is impossible to watch them without tears and at the same time without pride for our soldiers, so close to us and relatives, despite the fact that we are already separated by several generations. But... all of them, one way or another, were relatives to us living in the modern world. And we just have to remember the price of that Victory, thanks to which we live in a free country!
And the first film, a review of which I want to share with you, will be a screen adaptation of the unfinished novel by the famous Soviet Mikhail Sholokhov "They fought for the Motherland", directed by Sergei Bondarchuk in the genre of military drama in 1975. Its premiere took place on the 30th anniversary of our Victory over Nazi Germany.
So what does this picture tell us?
In July 1942, on the outskirts of Stalingrad are heavy fighting on the defense of the city. Soviet troops in the course of this operation suffer huge losses.
Among the few survivors, soldiers and officers of the red Army, who are at the crossing of the Volga deter the onslaught of numerous enemy forces.
In this film, we see how ordinary people in everyday life, people of the most peaceful professions, become Heroes. We see how such features of human character as courage, bravery, devotion to the Motherland, self-sacrifice are revealed. We see the price of victory over the insidious and hated enemy and understand how high the price of human life.
In this film you will not find so many special effects, which sin modern films, but even with their minimum you will truly empathize with the main characters of the film, feel their pain, suffering, regret that you can not help them...
All this was possible, thanks to the direction of S. Bondarchuk, who played, by the way, the role of one of the key figures in this picture - infantry Ivan Zvyagintsev, a former combine.
An important role in the creation of such a holistic, exciting picture was played by the fact that the main roles in this film, in addition to Sergei Bondarchuk, were performed by such stars of Soviet cinema as Vasily Shukshin, Vyacheslav Tikhonov, Georgy Burkov, Yuri Nikulin, Ivan Lapikov...
Unfortunately, for Vasily Shukshin this film was the last in his life. The great actor died during the filming, not having played until the end of his role.
Unfortunately, few of the actors who starred in this film are still alive. Those who played the main role are no longer with us.
Let us remember, and pay tribute to the soldiers who died on the battlefield, and those who forged the Victory on the labor front, and the actors who starred in films about the war.
Eternal memory and glory to them who gave their lives for the sake of peace on earth! And a huge gratitude from us, descendants of great heroes.
Thank you for your attention, see you soon!
With respect to you, @mrfantastis.
