Review of the film "Anthropoid" (2016)

Greetings, dear readers!

I like to watch movies that tell about the events of the last world war II, they are especially interesting when their plot is based on real events.

This is the new feature film "Anthropoid", shot by the joint production of Czech, English and French filmmakers, shot in the genre of military Thriller, history and biography, the world premiere of which took place on July 1, 2016 in the framework of the Karlovy vary film festival.

The premiere of this film in Russian cinemas was timed to the date of the beginning of the aggression of fascists against our country and took place on June 22, 2017.

I watched it in the public domain on the site, which offers free services for viewing various videos online, without registration and in good quality images and sound, what no gram do not regret.

Moreover, I strongly recommend to see it to all who care about the story, which concerns not only the Czechs and Slovaks shown in this film, because the war swept then almost half the world.

What does the plot of this film tell us about?

It is about the organization of the Czechoslovak Resistance on the orders of the Czech government, entrenched in London, the assassination of the third person in importance in the German Reich, SS-obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich, for his atrocities earned him the nickname "hangman of Prague".

We are shown in every detail the sending of a group of paratroopers, their appearance in Prague, a meeting with representatives of the resistance, as well as how they all prepared for this act. Not without a love line, which ended, as expected, very sad.

The film shows their doubts, torment, attempts to find a compromise, because the death of one executioner does not improve the situation of citizens. On the contrary, the result of this attempt will be punitive measures against civilians.

Most of all touch the soul of the scene, in which we see the torture of the captured Gestapo members of the Resistance, and as to the last held the defense of the Church seven paratroopers, carrying out a mission, but forgotten by his government.

The price paid by the Czechoslovak people for the British to recognize their country as an ally in the fight against Hitler's Germany was high...

The film stars Jamie Dornan, Cillian Murphy, Brian Caspe, Kai Hermanek, Ball Arystanova Khan Frejkova, Sean Mahon, Jan Hajek, Marcin Dorocinski, Toby Jones, and other actors. Most of them I really empathized, worried about the fate of the heroes...

The film is based on real events, though slightly embellished in order to make it more interesting to watch.

In any case, I was interested to learn about the events of the war years, which I was hitherto unknown.
