I Love My New Samsung Chromebook Plus!

If you haven't heard, Samsung just dropped the newest Chromebook on the market, called the Chromebook Plus. 

Chromebooks are a hybrid between a laptop and a tablet. They attempt to be super fast devices that you can do ALMOST everything on.

They run on Chrome OS, which is different that Windows or Mac. And even though it is a Google device it is not exactly full Linux or Android. 

But with the new Chromebooks, you get access to everything in the Google Play Store. Cool right?

I got the Chromebook for travel, as I am heading out of the Country soon and I don't want to take my top of the line ultrabook. I am hearing more and more stories of devices being stolen at the borders by people who call themselves "TSA". 

I would much rather lose a $450 device than the few grand I dumped into my main computer. 

So far, I am really enjoying the Chromebook Plus, but I would like to save my full review till I have a bit more experience with the device. My out of country trip should expose everything you can and can't do with a Chromebook.

I actually had to buy the Chromebook Plus from Best Buy, as Amazon was SOLD OUT! 

But don't go running to your nearest Best Buy yet, there is a better Samsung Chromebook coming out in April, The Chromebook Pro. It will have a better processor and that is about it, but it might be worth it. (extra $100)

Chromebooks are designed to store everything online (Google Drive, Dropbox etc.) so they don't have a bunch of memory. It is actually closer to smart phone specifications than a laptop. (yes you can use a micro sd card)

My favorite feature is the S PEN, YES I REPEAT THE NEW CHROMEBOOK PLUS HAS AN S PEN. (que Samsung fanboys jizzing in their pants) but for real Samsung has nailed the device pen feature. And it is DOPE. 

For now, the New Chromebook Plus gets my thumbs up! 👍
