The Family Tree and Inca and Company
The story actually kicks off with Inca introducing us to her family tree. It is very interesting to meet her sisters, brothers, hamster, a mom and an aunt. You will be amazed that the human characters are just a means to tell the story. Their participation is mostly to lead the character on.
Inca is a self proclaimed Siberian Detective Cat. She has a sister,Cara and brother, Fromage. There is a mom, the human mistress and aunt Florence. Charlotte is a hamster. There is Terrance and Monk, a dog and cat respectively belonging to Solo, a rejoined London based human detective. Lastly there is Polo, a tiny pup.

Four of the members of Inca and company accompany mom on a holiday in a little Island in the middle of India and South East Asia. What an escape from the hustle and bustle of London in France. Inca, Fromage, Cara and Charlotte are quite excited. Least did they know that they will be joined by Terrance with his master,Solo.
It just happens that some valuables, valuable coins and a very valuable antique sword is stolen from The Columbus Museum. The director seeks the services of Solo and that is how Terrance comes in and they come to learn of the mystery. There is excitement and adventure as they snoop around for the lost items.
They make friends too. Meena, the baby elephant, her mom and Rani, the turtle are among the friends. There is a happy ending to this story as the Inca and Company and their friends recover the stolen loot. The culprits Mr. Appan and Babu, the village rogue are the masterminds behind the robbery are arrested for the crime. Congratulations Inca and Company.
What I Love In The Story

The story is told so vividly that you become part of the story. The figurative in the story are just superb. Descriptions of scenes become live in our mind. This book is not only interesting for children between the age of 6-12 it is intended for but for adults too.
I would have been crashed like a bug.
I would have been flattened like a pancake.
The above are some of the figurative language I loved.
I enjoyed how the author used some mispellings of words to bring meaning out.
HUUGE in capital letters showed how Inca saw the gigantic elephant. She also used thissssss to indicate the hissing of a snake.
Mixing adventure, holidaying and detective work also blended so nicely. Inca once got lost in the forest where she met baby cheetah's and there mother. How she struck friendship with the hostile mother cheetah was just wonderful.
The story is meant for children and most of the characters are young. It is easy for children to identify with the characters. They behave and talk like them. It is more interesting how the animals were talking to one another.
It is very interesting how the animals recovered the stolen items from the hideout. It showed the most cooperation ever given by the animal kingdom. I loved it.
What I hated Most In The Story

Such a fantastic and interesting story will rarely have any dislikes. However I felt the book was a bit more sophisticated for the children of the specified age in places where English is a second language. The vocabularies were a bit hard. I also felt there would have been more areas of interest to tour. There are many beautiful tourist attractions in the area where the story is set where children would have been introduced to in the story. There was only one such area that the characters visited. They visited Anuradhapura where they visited UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I would rate this story with a 9 out of 10 rating. The author did the story much justice. You will enjoy reading it.
What Can I Say About This Story?

It is the diary of a cat. It describes what took place everyday in the morning and afternoon for just few days. It is too interesting to be a diary. The story Is told with the expertise of a master story teller. The characters are well chosen ad they are very entertaining.
My honest opinion is that I will recommend this piece of wonderful art not only to children but to grown ups too. It can make an awesome bedtime story. It will turn your child interested in books and become an avid reader.
reading along, took it from a movie angle where certain legends are asked for help to assist in hunting stolen treasures. good one.
